Wide Body Charter Desk Manager
Location: Michigan - Travel up to 50%
Salary: $100,000-£150,000

The role:
The Charter Desk Manager will be responsible for developing and contributing to the product
and service development. You will set up the charter desk structure and its activities and work
with core stakeholders to develop the product: Vertical Leaders, Marketing,
Finance and EVP Sales leaders. The Charter Desk Manager will also internally promote and sell
the product and foster and coach, the internal stakeholders (sales and business
developers).
Key Responsibilities
Actively participate and contribute to the build-up of the charter desk, jointly with the VP Cargo Sales
Manage the day-to-day charter desk
Manage and supervise the operational and commercial execution
Set and monitor the tasks and KPI’s for the Charter Operational Manager
Set up a vendor management & KPI metric concept for aircraft operators (global)
Continuously develop the Wide Body Air Charter Product and related services
Set up an internal sales promotion campaign and marketing tools
Help set up and provide coaching to the sales and business development teams and its leaders
Create and implement the operational and internal contractual protocol
Prepare the product for a soft roll out by mid-Summer 2024, a hard roll out by Sept
2024
Set a business revenue plan with internal stakeholders
Conduct regular meetings with the internal stakeholders
Participate in carrier negotiation meetings
Participate in carrier – charter industry conferences to increase BI, networking and
footprint
Actively participate in internal marketing campaigns to promote and consult all stakeholders
Work with the Internal Training Team to set up coaching and wide body coaching and training modules
Provide global carrier/airfreight intelligence to support the stakeholder’s development
and company’s growing expansion in time critical services
Set and maintain/monitor an internal P&L, with ongoing budget expansion (3 year, 5 year)
About you:
Bachelor degree, preferably in Business Administration and Management, Logistics and aeronautical studies
A 10-to-15-year minimal experience in both operational, sales and management experience in international airfreight transportation and logistics
An in-depth knowledge of all matters airplanes: most current freight and belly freight aircrafts ranging from B727 through B747-400F/-8F and out of gage aircrafts
An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the current main global asset owners and operators
Must demonstrate an apt and agile characteristic for solutions and integration
Demonstrate adaptability to a global complex environment
Must be driven by result and accomplishment
Apt to integrate and connect with the structure, business model and philosophy
Apt to work with all standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Be able to formulate and present strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for the Wide Body Air Charter Division
Be able to contribute to the formation and creation of processes and protocols
Be able to set and run metrics and mathematical concepts for procurement and revenue concepts
Be able to work independently and manage crisis situations on behalf of internal stakeholders and customers
Multilingual is preferred
